Marcel Breur’s Wassily chair combines with Farrow & Ball’s Silvergate wallpaper in a 19th century English damask design

MID-CENTURY MIX

She wanted to update the look of her traditional living room without changing the fireplace mantel. Adding a large-scale wallpaper print and a few tweaks to the bookshelves gave her a gorgeous focal wall. Mixing the updated Victorian wallpaper with mid-century modern furnishings and custom drapes gives her an elegantly cool place for entertaining and relaxing.

This interior design project is a great example demonstrating the transformation of a limited area of a home.

The client was developing her own printmaking skills during the time of this proejct. Her media equipment was too deep to fit into standard-sized furniture. So sculptor / furniture maker Andrew Christenberry was called upon to custom design a blonde wood audio console to house the equipment. The mid-ceuntry design incorporates decorative fabric panels (protected by glass) that can be easily changed out as the client creates new prints!
