She grew up in a home designed by Frank Gehry and had a vision for their new home. He wanted a home office that showcased his love of chess. Initially, they hadn’t planned to use the main level often. But with cozy seating in front of the fireplace, and the dining area set off by glowing globes of light, entertaining naturally followed. The breakfast nook, with a custom-built banquette, seats six. A suspension light that swings 360º allows him to watch the news while she reads a book. Custom art and bold lighting add colorful pops to the family TV room level – with its separate guest sleeping area, plenty of attractive storage, and large sectional sofa.

We know what we like, but we needed someone who could help us see how furniture and décor would fit in the space and pull it all together into a coherent vision. We also needed someone to oversee contractors, troubleshoot deliveries, and make sure everything was on track as we tried to fill an area that was almost twice the size of our previous house.
