flooded with opportunity

they had thought about updating their family home for years, but never found the time. then they came home one afternoon to find a burst pipe had flooded the entire home. it took a lot of planning, patience and perseverance -- but the final result was spectacular. the entire first level was opened up to accommodate a much larger kitchen and family gathering space. coffered ceilings and beams provided architectural interest, and connected the three separate functional areas of the space (cooking, eating, relaxing). a color palette of creamy white custom cabinets and backsplash, soapstone counters, and sage green walls pulled from the large stone fireplace ensured the entire area would feel open and bright. but as important to the clients, we maintained their transitional aesthetic and created a comfortable, warm, and inviting space.
